This one is different, an opinion piece about the state of popular music today. You might it utterly boring. Not a lot of music examples, but it’s only 34 minutes long. My contention is that (popular) music is dead, at least in the sense of music separate from lyrics. I bash Taylor Swift’s output, an eminent writer of lyrics, from the standpoint of what passes for musical background. You might find it interesting; you might completely disagree; or you might find it enlightening. Try it.
